There are schools of thought in Taekwondo today: the olympic sport and the traditional martial art. Both have little interest in realistic combat techniques. Many coaches and athletes would wish for exactly that. Taekwondo Defense closes this gap and is therefore the ideal complement to classic Taekwondo.
Grandmaster Kim Eunseob is the founder of Taekwondo Defense and began developing the self-defense system in Korea in 2013. TKDD spread rapidly, mainly through YouTube videos. Grandmaster Kim therefore founded the World Taekwondo Defense Federation, of which he is President today. He is also the Technical Advisor to World Taekwondo Headquarters Kukkiwon on Self Defense. The self-defense portion of the new Kukkiwon Text-Book (the "Bible of Taekwondo") is based on TKDD.
